Iodine

How can i raise Iodine levels in my tank? I have a pretty natural running tank. I dont use any additives except for phosphate remover and carbon to polish the water. I'd like to keep it that way. any suggestions on how to raise levels like iodine and calcium?

Iodine should be kept at natural levels: 0.06 ppm (all forms). There is no need to raise it higher than that. As a matter of fact, excess iodine is toxic.

Read Dr. Randy Holmes-Farley's iodine article:

Iodine in Marine Aquaria: Part I

Why do you want to rasie your iodine level? Have you tested it?

In order to get coraline to grow, your calc, alk and mag all need to be kept within their optimum ranges. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.php

Here's a link to all of Randy's articles about water chemistry - http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=102605

You beat me to it Ninong.

Best way to "dose" iodine is to simply do regular water changes with a quality salt mix.
