beckett skimmer issue

I know that I am not the only one with this issue. So here it is. I am running a diy dual beckett with a panworld 150 pressure pump. I do not run any mechanical filtration on the system as I do not lean one way or the other on using it. Anyway, how many people have there becketts get stuff in them from their tanks, and how do you keep this from happening? It runs great when it is first cleaned, but then, either in a day or seven, when it gets clogged from something, it lowers the water level. I have cleaned the pump before and it still happens. I know it is stuff from the water column. I thought about putting a filter in front of the intake of the pump in the fuge to help the matter, but I wanted to see how many of you have this issue, and how you fix it as I can't be the only one.

You could try and remove the center section inside the injector itself! If you are using a pressure pump it should still draw air! That would keep things from clogging the Beckett.
Also check out this thread on Moding the Beckett.

Good Luck

Wouldn't removing the center portion of the beckett defeat the purpose of the skimmer? I can't say I have ever heard of that before. As for the link, thanks for that. I have followed that for a while as well. As for now, though, I am staying with the unmodded ones.

On a side note, I was thinking of upgrading the pump to a Reeflo Dart. Although not a pressure pump, they can still handle some pressure, and I would have twice the GPH flow at the head pressure I am running than I have now, and also have a smaller wattage draw for electrical use.
