Algae in R/O unit
I have my R/O unit mounted on a wall on my back porch on the north side of the house. No sun reaches the unit. I live in the Keys so it is always warm but this is the first time I have had a problem with algae in the unit in the 3 months I've had it. I can see green splotches developing in 2 of the 3 stages.
How can I control this without bringing the unit in the a/c and does this create a detrimental effect to the water for my top offs and H2O changes. Thanks, KeysGeezer 43.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. |

Algae needs light so it is definitely getting some. It may only take ambient light.
I am betting it is pretty humid out there too. Maybe this is adding to the problem. If there is algae growing there could be bacteria growing. I would ask Russ from bulkeyefield supply for better information. Check out the sponsor forum. He is very knowledgeable. |
