upgrade from css125 to octopus extreme 160
I am considering upgrading my Coralife SuperSkimmer 125 to an Octopus Extreme 160,and would appreciate opinions yea or nay.The tank is a 75 gallon reef with just about every coral imaginable, including 6 sps pieces.I have 6 fish, and 2 gobies, not a large bioload.I feed one frozen cube a day, along with cyclopeeze. My question is if I will see a difference in performance between the 2.The skimmer I currently have does not seem to pull much junk, but am curious if that is because of the small bioload,or lack of skimmer performance.I want the healthiest tank possible, but do not want to throw away good money if the 2 perform the same.Thanks.

I have the MSX 160, which for all intents and purposes is the same as the Octo Extreme 160.
The MSX is in a completely other league tbh. Those coralife skimmers are complete garbage. I had one as well, and was NEVER happy with it. Go with the MSX or Octo Extreme. I do the frozen cube once every other day, and have a sheet of nori in the tank every other day for the tangs. I feed 1/2 as much as you do on my 90 Gallon, and am pulling this out every 3-4 days. ![]() ![]() ![]()
