Happy to help. I got a little more suspicious of my Sally after watching a full grown one take an adult bird as prey on T.V. once. I'm guessing that was some not quite the same thing as what we have in tanks though, my little guy is a happy, friendly fellow.

+1

Change 'anything' to 'everything' and I agree 100%.

They are ruthless killers. Watched it happen first hand in my own tank. SLF dropped down on to the back of my lawnmower blenny, and popped his eyes out with his claws. Watched it happen, then spent 6 hours trying to catch it to get it out...

I have two pom poms. I see them once oh every two months. They look awesome, but pretty pointless if you never see them.

My LFS, who I trust implicitly, recently sold me a Sally to help keep my tank clean. They told me that Sally's are totally reef safe...than I did my research post purchase. (Yea, I know...been in this too long now to make that type of newbie mistake...but like I said I trust them).

When Sally's mature they will kill anything for food...all crabs are opportunists. Sure enough, my neon blue shark-nose blenny just "disappeared" one day after the crab was introduced into the tank.

Next day, a small jar placed in the back of the tank against the rock with a silver side and just like that he was back out of the tank with a trip to my LFS.

I'll never again add a crab to my tank even though there will be memebers here on RC who will swear they never caused a problem.

Just do the research...
