another stuff up . this time with feather star

as of yesterday i notice my yellow feather star (crinoid)
not looking too chap,,,, split in half on sb
didnt think nothing of it since my starfish was eating on it

( i wish i had removed it asap)

this morning came to work
and my water is so murky could bearly see into tank.
in a hurry i tried to scope up as much of the left over
feather bringing it up it all slimey n smelt preety bad

did a 50% water change still the same.
soft corals are all closed up
reattached my overhead filter made a slight improvemnt

dont know what else to do???????????????????????????????????

just when my tank was running perfectly now this damn its frustrating

all you can do is wait and try not to put to any other chemicals in the water

I would personally be using a canister filter packed with carbon until things settle back down. I keep a magnum 250 in storage just for events like this.

Yes, run plenty of carbon. Sorry to hear about the star, but I'm not surprised at all. Feather stars are incredibly difficult to keep.

The responsibility of research fall on the consumer not the supplier. Not trying to be an ahole but that's just how I see it. The LFS cannot know each persons ability or experience.

fair enough point taken

but in general they should just say something along the lines of ''did you know these coral require etc etc "
rather then wait like a stunned mullet for u to open ur wallet
