n00by's 75g Reef Tank w/ Pics!
Added the last fish today, (yellow belly blue hippo tang), and will begin the slow start to adding more corals. I was tempted to put this up under the reef discussion section but was worried about the comments from the SPS gang,
Either way enjoy and comments are welcome. Currently the tank is a divider for my living room and dinning area. I am seriously thinking of making the 3 foot move and putting it wall side after some modifications. This is going to be done by the help of professionals from a LFS. FTS Algae Blenny Salarias fasciatus aka, Blenny Crabits B/W Clownfish, Darwin Australia, Amphiprion ocellaris aka, Marina & Dimitri Notice the coraline starting to come in! w00t! Xenia, (hope it will grow upwards onto the LR and stop there, lol) Colony of zoo's, Zoanthus Left side tank shot with my 2 fav creatures, YB Hippo tang and Local girlfriend or LGF, lol Right side shot of tank, included large leather coral Back side shot of tank, living room side, Leather coral fully open, Frogspwan |

If you don't want the Xenia to spread I would isolate it. If your tank conditions are favorable they will take off!! Take it from me, I know!! Nice looking tank.

the only way to stop exina is to take it out of the tank before it can spread. I had one stalk but now I have three. Funny thing is the new growth is about two feet away in two different directions.

Dont move that onto a wall just get a piece of black poster board and cover up the over flow on your living room side.

Thanks, Crooks...
Some how everyone keeps telling me not to move it. The bad part is when you place corals and rocks on the tank you have to aquascape for 2 sides. My place isn't that big so it makes it looked crowded and also i'm worried that the floor will take a beating over the years if kept this way. Other than that yes it does look very nice this way. Lot's of natural light passes through from both sides and helps transition from day to night. |

careful with metal clips... they can rust and break.

Well aware but they are in no contact with water or even spray back. Plus they are stainless steal and the screws replaced with stainless steal ones.

What are the chances that if I add more LR, good cured stuff such as you see in my pics, would it affect the balance of the tank or is there enough bacteria to take care of any type of dead or dieing creatures in the newer LR that would be added?
I really feel like I need to add more rock and fill in the right side, more hiding spots, etc... |
