Rockford is 2 hours away
how much would you charge?

I live in Frankfort Il; but I will not be returning until Saturday.
do you think everything will die by then?
currently only a powerhead running in the tank for water movement, and one in the sump.

If your sump isnt turning over water I would be very concerned about oxygen exchange.

The power headin your sump is doing no good if your pump isnt pushing that water back up to the display.

yes, she checked the outlet and the surge protector;
otgher things are connected as well , such as the heater, and lights, which work fine.

I had her ondo the pump from the plumb line,. and unscrew and clean the face where the magnet is, and replace, with no luck.

k...sounds like it may need to be replaced. I have to sign off soon just give me a call if you have any further questions or want me to head over to take a look at it. If you want we could possibly install a cheaper pump to get you by then you can have the mag sent out if it is still under warranty. Then you would have a back up..........when you get the mag back. FYI...I will have to p/u a pump before I head over if that is what you decide if I can get your working I will just return the one I bring.....it may be tough to get my hands on a MAG 24 on short notice like this....The important thing is to install a pump that will circulate enough water to keep your overflow siphoning and splashing into the sump to keep the water oxygenatated.....In the end regardless of what you do I would keep a backup pump on hand...it doesnt have to be as big or expensive as your main pump ....just enough to keep things going in times like this while main pump is repaired

Mag pumps have a great reputation...some people hate them because of the noise. Personally I use marineland pumps. I only have a 150 and I have the marine land 4500 I believe...its the one that pushes 1200gph. Its only 139 online. I love it. It is quiet and efficient. There are 1 or 2 sizes above mine

Actually I have one Identical to mine in my truck (new in the box)....I could bring that one up, it would be a great back up pump. It may even be enough to replace your mag depending on how much head you have. I only have about 4 feet.

i always recommend a backup pump, if nothing else you can use it to mix saltwater up quick

She try wacking it? Sometimes that's all it takes to get a pump working again.

They have a 3 year warranty. I've had a Mag 7 running non-stop for over 3 years now...never cleaned it either.

A friend had a smaller mag 18 on the side, she took it over , until I get back;
However, it is a valuable lesson to have a back up!!!!
