yes i did just quote the hangover. lol.. but my "retard" question is do non-photosynthetic corals need light at all?

well, yes, you do need light, but for you and not for the coral. so you could see them.

No. Most if not all non-photosynthetic corals perfer to be in caves and shaded areas within our tanks. Unless the lighting is already very weak.

no, they don't "need" light. Some of them don't mind it, but others dislike it. A greater concern is feeding. Non photosynthetic corals rely on food capture for survival, which can be very difficult to for some species do without turning a closed system tank into a cesspool. Always a good idea to do some research on any coral you want before you buy it.
