I wouldn't pay 200 for an anemone, too sensitive for me. But it does look pretty rare, haven't seen one like that before.
I really hope this isn't a new tank, but from the look of the rocks, looks pretty new to me. I wish the best of luck with your anemone but they tend not to do well in young tanks. |

It's a LTA, (macrodactyla doreensis) needs a deep(ish) sand bed, medium to strong light, medium current not surging, one of the less hard to keep clown hosting anemones if healthy.
I have seen some genuine pink ones and they are not very common so you may have got lucky. Its natural host fish are A.polymnus, A. perioderaion, A. clarkii, and A chrysogaster(good luck).

If you skimmer cup fills with a pinkish tinge then it is a dyed anemone.

If the answer to any of the above is yes, then you either made a bad decision or got ripped off? If you did not answer no, then do you oooh and ahhh over the coral like most of us here. If so, I say enjoy, great purchase. She is a beauty! Be sure to take adtravels advice and check the skimmer cup. If you skimmer cup fills with a pinkish tinge then it is a dyed anemone. No pink, you like = good buy!

I would call and talk to the manager and tell him you suspect its dyed and try to return it based on that.

It isn't dyed. the color actually got deeper once it found the sandbed. It didnt like the rocks. I also had two black clowns in the sump, moved them to the anemone and looks even better. I am happy with the purchase. I cant find another one like this online.

I'm not sure I get why you asked us if you got "ripped off". There is a reason you can't find another one online like it.

all the dyed anemones I always see are a uniform color anyways. looks like a nicely colored LTA, but fair market value is no where near 200. you might want to make sure it wasn't a mistake on the part of the cashier

i would def contact the store and let them know you thought it was only 75 and the reciept says 200. Maybe it was a mistake and you could get a refund. either way its really cool i have never seen one that color
