where do you keep your frozen food?
i have a few different types of frozen food in my freezer. my mysis shrimp is in individual packages, inside gladware, but my cyclopeeze is pretty much leaking everywhere. what do you guys find to be the best way to store food like like so it doesn't a) get everywhere; and b) smell up everything. drinking fishy beer isn't my favorite. haha

How does something frozen start to leak? Does your freezer door get opened and closed frequently? I just have all my stuff in a ziploc however it doesn't defrost, it stays frozen.

Is this a trick question? Oven? Microwave? There doesn't seem to be a lot of options.

I keep mine in a mini fridge, located in the bar on the viewing side of my in-wall tank... with my beer

I keep mine in a ziploc bag, and I have never had problems with leaking either. Maybe you need to place your food further back in your freezer if it is defrosting where it's at now.

Most freezers have a defrost cycle that runs every so often which is what makes a "frost free" freezer, "frost free". If you're keeping it in a standard top mount refrigerator which has the freezer above the fridge, you may run into it melting during the defrost cycle if you're placing it on the bottom of the freezer. There is actually a heating element under the plastic bottom panel of your freezer and it heats up every time it kicks into defrost. Try keeping it in the door of the freezer, or on a higher shelf where it has less chance of melting when the defrost cycle kicks on. A better alternative would be a chest freezer if you have one.

Go buy a deep freezer, most modern freezers are frost free and not a "true" freezer.

I keep all of my Frozen food in Frost Free home refrigerator/freezers. The ones in my home as well as at my office. I even have one of those small college ref/frez units right in my office. I have frozen Cyclop-eez & Rods food in there. I have never had a problem with anything melting.

In my freezer, but in a spare ice bin. That way, if anything leaks, it doesn't go anywhere. But it doesn't leak. Keep it shoved toward the back.
Got mealworms and waxworms in the butter keeper in the fridge door (veiled chameleon food). |

i'm not sure why it doesn't stay frozen. i put it in a ziplock bag, but the bag seemed to like protect it from the cold and it defrosted a bit. my freezer is pretty crappy, but the build up of ice on the outside of the freezer box accumulates more than normal so i know it stays cold. maybe i just gotta play with it.

I don't have an issue of leaking...
I have a side-by-side and store my stuff right next to the frozen peas. My issue is when I am in a hurry to feed it takes forever to defrost. I dunno - something about a watched pot never boiling!
