Leaky Bulkhead

I have an Oceanic 215 RR brick style Aquarium. One of the drain line bulk heads is leaking. I have stopped the leak, but it just keep spinning, even with someone holding the standpipe so that it doesn't move. It just doesn't seem to want to stop turning. the other one does not move at all! My questions are how can i fix this? Do I have to drain the tank (I don't think so)? If i have to replace it then how do I do that?

Thanks,
Jim

Sounds like the threads are stripped. You will have to drain the tank to below the bulkhead to replace it.

+1. If the tank has overflows, you should only have to drain the overflow. Otherwise, you will have to drain the tank to get at the bulkhead. Anything else is a band-aid and ultimately will spell disaster down the road.

Hsve you tried holding the actual BH and not the standpipe? Most times the stand pipe will not be glued to the BH to ease maintenance.

if it is a RR tank drilled at the bottom, you will have to drain the overflow box and replace the bulkhead
