Sally Lightfoot Crab
Yesterday I purchased a Peppermint Shrimp to help deal with aiptasia and it seemed to be doing fine until I awoke in the middle of the nighe to go to the bathroom and checked my tank and found that my Sally Lightfoot Crab chewing on my brand new Peppermint Shrimp!!! The Shrimp had not been dying as it was walking around actively all day. I have read that they are typically not agressive Has anyone ever had this problem with a Sally?

I don't have any pepermint shrimp but I do have a SLF crab with 2 skunk(cleaner) shrimp and my SLF has never shown aggression towards any of my tank mates. Could be hit or miss?

Never had a Sally Lightfoot, but I've seen large ones crawling around on the rocks down in the Florida Keys. I can't imagine a crab that grows up to about a 10 inch + leg span being a good addition to a 22 gallon aquarium (or any reef aquarium for that matter).

Sally's can be very aggresive. They can and will catch and eat other tank inhabitants.

all sallys will sooner or later catch everything that they can get. mopar, once he gets big enough he will definitely eat your shrimp. they are pests and idk why they where ever introduced to the reef world. only thing they are good for is mantis food.
