2 barracudas w/ 2wavysea plus

Ok so im re-doing my plumbing setup to add more water and more flow. I'm wondering if 2 baracudda pumps for return on my 210 will be too much flow for my overflows?

I currently have a wavysea hookup up with a mag 12 i want to take that one and put my baracudda pump on the main return i also want to add an additoinal one for added water flow movement. will this work? Or will it be too much for my overflow to handle?

My tank is 72x-30x24
210 gallon tank with dual overflows being 1 inch
I can't drill the tank for closed loop as its already setup with water

Thats a 4500 GPH pump on a 600 GPH drain. I think even one is severe overkill.
You generally dont want to exceed 10x turnover through the sump, but you'd be better off with 5x turnover.

You have 2 1" drains that can handle 600 GPH each, so that is 1200 GPH total that you can put through your drains. If you want to run a baracuda as a closed loop, that is certainly possible, but your return should be much smaller.

ok i think i know what i'm going to do...
let me know your opinions about it

I want to continue to use the baracuda pump but what i will do is have dual wavyseas at the tank and i will create a manifold, and tee off my return to cut down on the GPH return... something like this

http://www.boret.net/reef/IMG_0268_TEXT_MINI.jpg

would this cut the flow of return down?

Yes, if you T it off back into the sump or to other areas, it could work. But it would be better to just down size your return pump.

ok thanks guys. I had bought the barcuda pump to go with my oceans motion but i can't drill my tank as its already setup. I wanted to use it and not have to purchase another pump. THanks for everything i'll just get another pump rated at 1500 gph instead thanks
