What size sump is sufficient for a 150 gal tank???

Im currently using a 55gal sump.. But it pretty much takes up all the space nder the stand.. Ive seen ppl using 15-25 gal sumps for their 125gal reeftanks..

You don't HAVE to use a sump at all if you don't want. The reality, however, is the bigger you can go, the larger volume of total water you can have, the more stable the system is likely to be. My 150 has a 50g for the sump, and a 120 for a fuge. My 60g has no sump or fuge. Both work well
