Nice avitar...( arty lang )..

I swear you cant kill them...I have tried. What I do now is get some small live rock from your LFS. Stick them in the big bush of them. They will grow on the rock in a matter of days. Then take those small rocks into your LFS & trade them in on other corals.

That sounds like a great idea. I've seen xenia attach to rocks and glass within a day.

That picture was taken after a pruning. The overflow is 28" across and 30" tall. It is hard to see but on the right side you can see the rest of the colony in the reflection. I would do about a 12-gal WC each week and pull out about 1 gallon ziplock's worth. The local LFS would take it sometimes for some kitty litter or dog food.

My calc was around 550 and hada 8" sandbed. I think my clams and the xenia helped keep my tank low in nutrients because I would feed a lot of plankton and foods for the fish. All three tangs had big pot bellies.

I was thinking about using one of these Lindy worm blowers to injest some of the xenia with alk solution. It has a pretty sharp needle what do you guys think?

Why not use a regular syringe and needle?
