can you put Phosban in a sump?

I am not interested in getting a reactor, I was just wondering if anyone just puts a small filter bag with some phosban in their sump? I have a 58 and was thinking just using a small amount, maybe 30g or something. I would think if you just put it in an area of soft flow in a filter bag it would get the low, steady flow recommended by using a reactor. What do you guys think?

I just did this today because I can't stand messing with the TLF reactor, and I'm not convinced it's giving me any better flow than a filter bag. So i put the filter back right near the return pump. Two actually. With with phosguard and one with carbon.

Just don't let your return pump suck the bag in. I think it would do better near the drain pipe...and yes, it should work fine, maybe not as good as a reactor but I don't have a reactor and when I need to run carbon I just throw a bag in my sump.

Yeah, I have a sponge on my return pump so nothing gets lodged in there. I have a bag of carbon sitting on it right now, I was thinking of just laying a small bag of Phosban near it too. Good to hear others do it, any other people have some thoughts?

Why not just get a TLP because they hang off of your sump anyway?
