HELP - NAC6A or OCT-NWB-150 Skimmer?
I've read tons of protien skimmer reviews. Also done lots of price compares with shipping to my remote area included. It seems I've come to a head on picking between 1 of these 2 skimmers for a mixed, light on the fish, 90 reef.
So I need some expert advice and thoughts on these skimmers to help me finally pick one. Which is better and why? Or pro's / con's of each that you know of? Bubble Magus NAC6A (shipped $190 CDN) http://www.bubble-magus.com/en/productShow.asp?id=959 or Octopus NWB-150 (shipped $250 CDN) http://www.coralvue.com/PinwheelSkimmers.html I need to stick to the $200 mark, give or take $50, shipped. I also need to order from someone with reliable customer service because of where I live (the arm pit of Canada). |

Bump.
Some questions I'm stuck on here are; is the $60ish extra for the octo really worth it when they're both rated to the same gal tanks? (money's real tight for this build). Is the octo pump really that much better? I've heard good reviews on each being built well, but are there inherent design flaws/advantages I'm not taking into account that pushes the octo above the BM? Or are there any other skimmers in this price range I should be looking at also? |
