Sump Chamber size for MSX200 (pic)?

I am building my sump and i want to know if its ok to position the skimmer the way it is in the picture? I want to gain some more return room when i put in the skimmer section. Right now i test fitted it in the refugium section which is 12 inches wide. Id likw to make the skimmer section about 10" wide but it will only fit if the skimmer is in that position.

You can do that...It will fit in 10" wide also. I'd pull the "B" pipe off and just use the elbow to direct the output towards the baffle.

You'll want to run the skimmer shallower than you have that baffle in the pic. You can either build a stand to raise the skimmer so that it sits in 8-10" of water (prefered method), or cut your baffle so that it is shorter and the water in the skimmer section will be 8-10". If you are going to do the baffle, cut it so that the water level is 10", and you can raise the skimmer just a bit if need be (the skimmer will run best closer to 10").

Cool, not to sound stupid but which one is the B pipe? LOL

My baffels for the skimmer section are a little over 9" so i should be ok with them.

Thanks
John

The B pipe is the one coming out of the elbow where water will exit the skimmer
