Water Storage

I hope this is the right forum. Im into the biological not the electronic,,, how do I stop and get rid of the slime build up in my plastic .. 55 and 35 gallon ro/di , and mixed sea water storage drums in a basement in darkness???

I use a (otherwise unused) toilet bowl brush for mine. I also use a system 1 diatom filter in the barrel each time i mix up salt - you would be amazed at how much gunk there is in "clean" salt
