Sand Sifting Goby
I'm looking for the best type of sand sifting goby out there. I dont have a problem as far as cyano or anything, just a few diatom spots here and there that I would like to keep nice and clean.
I've heard about the Bullet Goby being the best sand sifting goby out there. Anyone have any experience with them? Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

In my previous tanks I have almost always had a diamond goby and they sift pretty much non stop. I think the one thing to watch out with most of them is that they love to jump just FYI

+1 on the Diamond Goby(all day workers) and my engineer goby has never sifted sand but is still a very cool eel looking fish that I recommend also...
Diamonds are indeed carpet surfers though.

+1 on the Diamond Goby. I have had a Dragon/Bullet Goby (Depends on what the LFS wants to call it) and it did an amazing job also!

Another +1 on the diamond goby. The yellowhead sleeper one gobbles it in his mouth and then flies up in the tank spreading what he collected all over the place annoying corals and clams. He acts as if he is trying to out a forest fire...lol.

yup, I have a yellow watchman, and a diamond. The diamond definaltely out-works the yellow. Also the yellow makes piles, where the diamond spreads the sand out more.
Be careful of LPS and other corals on the floor, they may get a mouth full of sand. |
