If your house voltage is 120 (this is usual) then 1500w would require 12.5 Amps.

If your voltage is 220, then 1500w would require 6.8 Amps

and while it is tempting... DO NOT just swich out the circut breaker.

As a side note I try not to run things on the ragged edge as they have a nasty habit of popping at really annoying times (like 5 mins. After you leave for a 3 day weekend).

Check the rest of the plugs on the walls, you may have another circut for some of the other plugs in the room especially if your house os on the modern side.

So you think it's better not to run 1500 watts on 10A?
It's too risky?

well 1500 watts will draw 12.5 amps if the voltage is 120, i haven't got my calculator but it sounds about right.

so i wouldnt run 1500 watts on a 10 amp supply in that case then no.

I checked again and the Volt is 220.
so in this case 1500 watts equal to 6.81 amps - on 10 amps plug.
In your opinion it's OK?

yes if you have a 220 volt input to your house then running 1500 watts of a 10 amp circuit is fine

Dude.. Where do you live. If in the US then you do this to figure it out..

1500 watts / 120 volts = 12.5 Amps

I usually do the

1500/110 = 13.63 Amps to be safe because house voltage is usually betwwen 110-120V

we have 230 volt in the uk, it works out as 4.3 amps per kilowatt, i was under the assumption the voltage in the us was 120 volts, if so roy g has a point, id suggest you double check your voltage input to your property.

Do you have a Home Depot in Israel? Ask the guy in the isle to double check.
As far as 220-230 goes for us, like air conditioners/hot tubs etc..

1500 / 220 = 6.8amps

If this is an existing circuit, if you plug it in and the breaker/fuse pops then its too much.

Also it would help to put Israel in your "location", it can only help.

It's in his "Location" under his avatar.

I've never had any luck getting sensible help from any of the home improvement stores (in my area anyway?.
