skimmer question

sorry for yet another skimmer question. i need a skimmer, 30 gallon tank, 20 gallon sump. which one? used asm g2 or new tunze doc nano, both same price and i don't think i'll be upgrading any time soon. thanks.

I think the G2 would be overkill for your setup. I don't know much about the Tunze but tunze usually has quality equipment so I would likely lean towards the tunze if that were my only two choices. I don't think you can overskim so If you have room in the sump then there would be nothing wrong with running the G2.

Nothing wrong with running a G2. I have a G3 on my 54.

Neither would be a bad choice. I have a euro-reef rs80 on a 40br with 20l sump and love it, you can pick them up pretty cheap used.

Try seeing how the tank does first before you get a skimmer.

If you go with the Tunze, I would step it up to the DOC 9005 if you have much of a bio load. I have a 9002 on my 28 gallon tank with a 7 gallon sump and I would guess it is on the edge of its capacity. Good skimmer and quiet, I have no experience with the G2 to compare it with, but I hear good things about them.
