Humidity
For those of you who have tanks larger than 6' with 3 MH set up ,How do you get rid of the humidity in the area? My chiller seems like it always is on ( even with the ac on ) , it not the comfortable cold room but its a little warmer than cool , mostly in the summer months , I also run fans and it is just too much I need a better solution,
Thanks, Please include pictures if you can, Thanks again.

Most people with a chiller vent the exhaust outside or at least outside the room. The heat made by the exhaust kinda equals the chiller .
I run a fan across the top of my tank for evaporative cooling. This usually cools the tank 5-6 degrees. This will create more humidity. I have two exhaust fans above my sumps, vented outside. I leave a window in the room cracked when outside temps are equal or lower than the fishroom.Seems you need a way to replace the air you are exhausting. I also installed a cold air return in the same rome as the aquarium. This helps draw moist air into your home ac and dry it out. Also put ac vent in the fish room to help cool. Some supplement home ac with a window or portable unit in thew fishroom. Cools more and removes moisture. In the winter I usually don't have an issue. Check out this thread, it's were I got most of my suggestions. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...hreadid=640757 HTH's, Todd

Roy G Biv,
I forgot to mention the tank and the stand is in the basement with the sump under it. Volcano1, Thanks for the info.Wow with the stuff you did. How do you manage to work around your tank with all that equipment? And I Also dont have that problem in the winter. And if the chiller is on in the winter It heats the basement for me.

All vents are in the ceiling, fan sits at the end of tank. Leaves 3 plus sides to work on.
