lets talk about over feeding...."Back to Basics"
i guess i am over my head in the new found reef world my back ground experience is with fish only, and now i am in the reef world and have been recently burned by the ammonia bug, i do not think i have a dead creature in my tank so over feeding is my doing!
i have a variety of corals and zoos and a couple of med tangs, first the tangs eat all the food put in there so i am probably putting to much there alone! formula one pellets and plus the formula one cube food for the tangs, i feed the tank oyster feast and pyto plankton and roti, Arctic pods. after writing this blog i noticed wow i am putting in to much, what is the recommend amount of food to use? |

Id cut back to just the pellets and the cubes. I dont dose any foods for my corals or anything, and they are all doing wonderfully. Try not to dump all the food in at once, instead put in a little at a time and watch them eat it. After a couple of minutes, you are done. They will always act hungry, but fight the urge to keep going. Try it out for a week or so and observe how your fish act. If they seem like they need more food, then up it a little, if not, then you are on the right track. Its easy to put way too much in there, we all do it so no worries.

I think it depends on your livestock. Different livestock have different needs. How often are you feeding, What are you feeding and what exactly is in your tank. Got photos?
Describe your tank and filtration system. Including how much circulation, flow, skimmers etc... |
