Ushio 20k Growth..

For anyone using Ushio 20k how is your growth as far as SPS??

I've used Ushio 20ks in the past, on M80 ballasts growth was good. There are several other factors contributing to growth though... but all things being equal, Ushio bulbs will give you good growth.

FWIW I switched to Phoenix 14k recently for more blue and more PAR... growth increase has been minimal, and I can't really attribute it to the lighting with 100% certainty. SPS coloration is a lot better though.

I was thinking of doing the same, that is why i was asking.. I was to concerned about growth but i heard color is a lot better with phoenix...
Are u supplementing the phoenix with anything?

Yup, with 4 T5bulbs; 3 ATI Blueplus & 1 10k. The T5's are pretty much the same spectrum as the Pheonix, they just make the tank look brighter.

The Phoenix bulbs are noticeably brighter than the Ushios.

i find my phoenix bulbs wash out reds and pinks and purples alot, but blues and especially greens really really shine.
