Preview of the New Tank
Well I have been messing around with this google sketch thing a lot and decided to do one of my tank that I have had for a bit and will be setting up very soon (hopefully will take some pics and do a build thread). Its a rough thing but it gives and idea of what it will be like. It is around 50 gallons or so .... enjoy

I just think you should go larger than 55 gallons. Maybe like a 120 or something if your going to the trouble to get a custom job anyways.

That is a really cool shape, but I agree with sedor... go bigger! At least 75. The smaller tanks are just too short front to back and it makes aquascaping a pain in the butt. How long L-R is the one you're having built?

I actually picked this tank up off craigslist awhile back so it is the one I'm going with because also where I live there is a limit on the number of gallons you can have. It is 36" L x 16" D x 18" H I believe.

Probably an apartment building. As far as shape, 16 inches front to back is a lot better than a standard 55g, so you should be able to do something nice with the aquascaping. I would try to have the rock in the middle kind of face the front and the rock on the sides kind of face the 45degree walls, this should create some nice visuals no matter what window you look in. Keep us posted as this happens, could look really nice.

I do live in an apartment and that is their rules so I must follow, I like the depth of the tank and feel it will work well for placing rock. I plan to do a build thread once I get everything going

The # of gallons rule at least makes some sense. I used to live in a condo and the rules actually read:
"May not have more than a reasonable number of fishes." Didn't clarify what a 'reasonable number' is, and said absolutely nothing about water volume. Cool looking tank btw!
