Any ATI T5 Fans?
Hey all! I know I post alot of questions about lighting but I promise this will be the last one! Anyway as you know Ive been having a battle with deciding on a MH setup for my new SPS reef, but then someone from reef central recommended an ATI T5O fixture on one of my posts. And today I went to my LFS and the guy I talk to everytime, without me saying anything, he also strongly advised getting an ATI system. Personally living in Texas it gets hot and i think it would help me manage my temp w/o a chiller. Anyway if you have anything bad or postive to say about this ATI please let me know. The only con about it I think is that I lose the shimmer affect...but i think ill survive without it. Comments? And if you have a ATI T5 system please let me know how its working out! thanks
P.S heres a link on what Im interested in http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/T5_...!_Bulbs_by_ATI |

I've been using the ATI PM 8x54 for two months and it's fantastic. No regrets leaving a MH system, and I was a diehard MH/shimmer person.
I have also cut my electric bill in half. |

Thanks for the reply Goodwood thats what I was hoping to hear! I really had my heart set on MH's But I think the ATI will be better in the long run. Plus I love the fact that they use less energy and produce less heat!

I have the ATI PM 8x60 and love it. If you set a fan in the hood you can keep the water temp within 2 degrees without a chiller. You will just have to run it warmer in the summer. Mine runs 79 degrees then hits just under 81 an hour before the daylights switch off. It's been over 100 degrees all week in so cal. I only keep my house at 79.
