Is this foam safe in an aquarium?

I have a wet/dry and I want to block a section to simulate a baffle to use a section for a fuge. Will this stuff be safe?

Here is the link.

I have access to this stuff for free and instead of having to make a baffle, I thought I could use this stuff the fill the gap and make a fuge in that section.

It is polyethylene foam 2" thick. It would definately stop water flow. If I wedge it between the end of the baffle and the bottom of the tank it will make a sealed compartment for a fuge.

I just don't know if it's safe for the aquarium water parameters and livestock

really?

It seems pretty durable but I don't know, that's why I'm on here. Will it harm the water, livestock, or mess with my parameters?

what are you going to do with the wet/dry?

do you mean attempt to turn it into a sump by adding a baffle and a fudge?

if so wouldn't it just be easier to add a small sump instead with proper baffles?

I am using the wet/dry as my sump right now. I removed the bio balls as I read that they can become a nitrate factory. Now I am left with all of the extra space on the side where the bioballs were. I am trying to make a refugium out of that side of the wet/dry. my skimmer is a HOB so all I have down there is my pump and a heater. There is plenty of room for rock and caleurpa and a clamp on light
