Kalk Reactor question... is this normal??

for those running a kalk reactor....

do you find when you start running low on kalk the water gets more milky and less transparent?

I have noticed that when i put a fresh batch of kalk the water mixes fine but settles to a transparent somewhat clear liquid...

when my kalk runs low..2 weeks later.... the water in the reactor column becomes more and more milky and the particles dont want to settle out of solution....

is this normal?

It's been discussed in the chemistry forum, but basically there are parts of kalk that don't completely mix well with water. What remains in a cloudy form is probably part of that material.

I top mine off every once in a while, and about every 6 months break it down to clean and remove any of that material that isn't dissolving well.
