Attack of the fuzzy purple stuff
About a week ago I noticed a growth of what I thought was coralline algae growing on the sandbed of my tank. This purple fuzz gradually began to spread, and even though it brings a vivid purple color to the tank, I am guessing this may soon become a problem. What the heck is this fuzzy purple stuff on my sandbed??? All feedback is welcome!

Yep, you are correct Ludnix. It is cynobacteria. Below is a good article on cynobacteria. http://netclub.athiel.com/cyano/cyanos2.htm
Right now I have to get back to the tank to intervene with this cyno outbreak... |
