55 gallons filled with colorful assorted damsels....(YIKES!)

How bad would it be to have a bare bottom tank filled with various damsels? The only thing in there would be PVCs....and a hanging filter.

This was originally my hospital/QT tank but its been a while since I have anything in the tank. I want to keep it running until i have use for it. I was thinking a few cheap colorful damsels. The 55 gallon is standing right next to the 90 gallon display tank. So it would be nice to see both tanks with something in them.

What's your thoughts?

Sounds colorful and could be fun. They can be really aggressive but that is kind of hit-and-miss. I had 4 and they killed each other down to 1. The Blues were the most aggressive in my experience. With pvc in the tank they would be easy to catch though. In reefs they are a nightmare. Definately introduce them at the same time. For some reason they don't seem to fight much when they are packed into tanks at the LFS, maybe if you have enough in there they won't be able to single each other out and will have less dominance issues.

I have three yellow tailed blue in my reef tank and they haven't been very aggressive at all, can't speak for the others, but it sounds fun. The only problem would be that they probably won't like newcomers, so what to do when you need to use the tank for its intended purpose?

as much as I hate them, it would be beautiful to have a "DOT" Damsel Only Tank. If you ever wanted to change the theme, borrow a lion fish
