Cutting xenia

I need to frag some xenia can i just cut it at the base with a razor blade. Then glue it to a rock

Run some corbon if you gotta cut it in the display.Just to be safe.

i always cut mine in tank however usually glue will not stick them, they will break off. I use either a rubber band down the middle, or the bridal net over it.

I never had any luck with glue

I would just grab one close to the base with a pair of those small medical type pliers and yank a stem off. I would put the frags in a berry basket I kept up against my overflows that had rubble in it. The frags would attach themselves in a couple days.

Be warned that any remnant left over from the cut stalk will regrow in a few weeks time.

This is a very good point. Also, in regards to cutting in the display, beware of little chunks that can escape and float away. If your not careful, you'll have this stuff taking over your tank. I always take some tank water and put in a separate container and cut in the container and dispose of the water afterwords. No worry about escaped chunks or any toxins released. Take pieces and bridal net over a small piece of live rock. Within a week your set with new frags.
