Algae help, please.
I've got dinos. Been battling them unsucessfully for a few weeks and now I'm starting to lose some snails and zoas. This is what I've been doing: raised mag to 1500 (I've read that Kent Tech-M is the best for dinos, I have Seachem), done lights out for 3 days twice, reduced photoperiod to 5 hours, light is on over chaeto in sump 24/7, run small amount of carbon and gfo in a hob filter changed daily, dripping alot more kalk, manual removal and am unclear as to more water changes or not but have done 2 extra. Any help would be great!

I am guessing that this is your 30? What do you all have in the tank?
Are you using RO/DI water? And if so, what is the TDS?

Yes, it's a 30 long. 2 damsels, snails, crabs and zoas. Distilled. Thanks for the reply.

Your bio-load doesn't seem all that high.
How often do you do your water changes? What is your salinity/SG and how do you measure it?

Bio-load is low and only feed like 1 flake crushed up every other day. Water changes are 4-4.5 gallons a week (a 5 gallon bucket with enough room to mix). 1.025 on a hydrometer that I've had tested at lfs twice. Also have a Tunze 9002 added about 5 weeks ago. I keep picking it off the sand bed and now it's covering the rocks, really seems to like higher flow.

Nitrate, nitrite and ammonia all test 0, ph 8.2-8.4 (dripping extra kalk to try to raise ph), mag 1500, dKH 9, calcium 440.
