Clownfish has gone missing.. AGAIN!

I have a mated pair of percs, but yesterday I noticed the male was missing.
Now, I have an open tank so the first thing I thought was to look around the floor to see if it hadn't jumped out. Nothing.
It couldn't have gone down the overflow, because I use a HGB, and there's no way he'd fit thru.
I thought maybe he got eaten, so I moved the rocks around the tank (ended up breaking off lots of SPS colonies), but no to avail.
What am I overlooking here?
This is the THIRD clownfish that mysteriously disappears!

IDK what HGB is but my Randalls goby went through my durso overflow. For the life of me I can't see how he fit through it and survived but he did. As a note, the Randalls is larger than a male perc, at least the two that I have.

HGB = Hofer Gurgle Buster, it's much like a durso.
There's no way he'd be able to fit in there, we're talking about a fully grown perc!. But ok, how did you get him out?

Well, the first two that went AWOL were pretty tiny, which is why I just wrote it off as inevitable, but this guy was fully grown, they had just gone thru a spawning cycle

^^^ Aha, the queen knocked him off for knocking her up! Thrown her in a room with bright lights in her face and she'll tell you where to find the body.

Come to think of it, she does sport a mischievous grin since yesterday

He had been missing for quite awhile and this was when the tank was fairly new, I thought he died and then he shows up in the sump. I could not believe he went through the durso but there is no other possibility. He was pretty banged up but pulled through. I still have him and a shrimp buddy that keeps him happy.
