Finally got an answer from Lumenarc

As stated, I called Lumenarc and they no longer have the pendant for the Lumenarc 3 reflectors and will not for a while as they are having problems with manufacturing and production.

This now elimantes the Lumenarc altogether. I called around and no one has the pendants or casing just the reflectors. They all have the mini's but I am told that the larger size would be better for a 120gal not the mini's.

So, who makes the next best pendant for a 48x24x24?

What about the Lumenmax 2's or Lumenmax Elites?

Thanks

I use the Lumenmax 2 on my 90. You would probably be better off with the Lumenmax elite on your 120. Get the Bluewave 7 HQI and it will plug right in to the reflector (if you are getting the Radiums).

I use the Lumenmax 2 on my 120 and it is fine. Tank is fully lit nd bright. Any larger I would go for the bigger ones.

James,

Do you mean any wider front to back and you would go larger. Or any longer left to right you would go larger reflector?

Either way . They are very good for a 2'x2' area. Even then, I have mine fairly close to the water- you could raise them a few and get more area from them.

Can you give a measurement that you have right now from the bottom of the pendant to the water level . I was told that maybe two Lumenmax 2 pendants could cover a 60 inch long tank if I mounted the pendant 12 to 13 inches from the bottom of the pendant to the water level with the electric cord towards the back.

Just over 7". It wouldn't really matter the position of the cord, the reflectors themselves are pretty much square.

Go with two Hamilton Cayman Sun HQI Pendants.

I am running those right now and they are really bright.

Two of those would be a great choice for lighting a 48" x 24" x 24" reef tank.
