Reef Octopus 150 Skimmer

Well, I have a Reef Octopus 150 Recirculating Protein Skimmer. I am currently feeding it with a maxi-jet 400 and am thinking of up-grading to a m-j 1200. Do you think the change will adversely affect the skimmer, my tank, or anything else?

My current system is a 40 gallon breeder (display) and a 29 gallon sump. The tank is filled with SPS small colonies, a dwarf flame angle, McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, and a Highfin Perchlet.

If you need any more information please ask, and all input is appreciated.

Thank you.

you want 1-1.5 times the tank volume flowing into your skimmer.

I would get the mj1200 with a ball-valve. I'm not sure but I think you can even use a john-guest ball-valve. That would allow you to fine tune how much is going into your skimmer.

Not that I have any personal experience with recirculating skimmers.
