Mag 36 problem
Just a quick question, hopefully someone here has one of these pumps and knows the answer...
Is the impellar assembly on the Mag 36 pump supposed to spin freely on the shaft or is it supposed to be fixed in place? I don't have the pump but am trying to find out for a friend who has this pump. Thank you in advance for any help.

i dont know about a mag 36, but most pumps (including the smaller mags 5,7,9.5 ect) have a shaft with busihings and the impeller spins on the shaft. if the shaft is seized to the impeller, i would pull it out and let is sit in a vup of white vinegar. that should disolve any salt and calcium that might have hindered its ability to spin.
is the shaft a SS or ceramic shaft? just wondering. hope that helps

Shaft and impeller are frozen together then. I'll suggest the soak and ask about the material the shaft is made out of.
Thanks so much for your help!
