New Eheim Compact Plus NW skimmer pump

Someone posted this on the MSX thread, and I thought the general skimmer crowd might be interested to see it. Eheim has a new NW skimmer pump called the Eheim Compact Plus
http://www.eheim.de/eheim/pdf/en/bro..._marine_GB.pdf
Not much info yet. I dont see air draw numbers in the specs.
Technical data
pump output l/h 800-2700
delivery head Hmax m 2.2
power consumption Watt 44
tubing connection: suction side ø G 1”
pressure side ø G 1”
dimensions HxLxD mm 138x82x115

with needle wheel for higher performance
completely safe due to hermetically sealed motor
High Performance Ceramics for quiet running smoothness and extremely long life
suitable for long term use inside or outside water; not self-priming
only for marine water
3 year guarantee

Marinedepot has them listed but shows out of stock.

Doesn't look like it has a lot of needles on the needle wheel. Looks like two rows.

I wonder what size skimmer body it would work on. I have a Euro Reef CS 8/2 8'' body 24'' tall.

That seems kind of hoaky. The fittings aren't even the same. How would you install one?

Premium Aquatics is looking onto availability as well.

Here is the packaging:

Marine Depot wasn't making it very clear but said that they could not get the aquabees so they are offering this pump instead. I guess I can call again to get a clearer answer.

interseting. My msx 200 has been acting up lately and i love eheim pumps. wish it was a little cheaper, but eheim is always worth the extra money.

Interesting new pump. I am thinking replacing my Gen X 6000 with it. Will standard PVC fittings work? Or is it metric? Also does it include a venturi fitting?
