Disappearing wrasse

I bought a clown fairy and as soon as I got him acclimated and put him in he hid and Ive seen no trace of him since (2 1/2 hours ago).
Does this seem odd?
Thanks

Most wrasses will bury themselves in the sand. Could be just hiding till it feels comfortable.

I had a coris wrasse stay under the sand for three days after being introduced into a new tank.

Nothing to worry about IMO.

Fairy wrasses don't bury themselves in the sand, they make a mucas cacoon around them and hug the rocks. It is completly normal for a new wrasse to hide when first introduced even for a number of days.
