Why is it in my tank and how do I get rid of it?

I'm guessing it is Diatoms.
Are you missing any inhabitants? Also what are your tank parameters?

I think it is diatoms. All of the fish are dead. The last bunch only lasted 12 hrs. All the pars show with in range. Not believing that though. may need a new test kit.

If all your fish died I,m guessing you have Ammonia.
Is this in the 29 or 75? Do large water change and test with different kit. You may be starting a new cycle.
