torn between two octopuse skimmers
im torn between an octopuse super sro 5000 vs a reef octopuse extreme 300
the sro is rated for a 300 gal tanks and i herd good things about the bubble blaster pump the extreme is rated for 425gal but im not sure the pump is as good both are around 500$ i have a 50 gal sps reef with a 50 gallon sump any advice id appreciate it and if you think i should go more powerful id be willing to spend more money, i just dont want to pay for brand names or cone shapes. |

Unless you're planning a large expansion in the near future either of these will waaaay over skim your system. The sro 200 would probably too much. Search some of Mojos recs. I'm running a new 5000 in sump on a 400 gal system.

get the msx200 or octo extreme 200, buy the bubble blaster 3000 pump then sell the sicce it comes with. Or ask the reseller if you can swap pumps. the bubble blaster is 100X better than the sicce.
