Problem? If so need solution.
Came home from work and my reef is all cloudy. I have been dosing part a and b in my 75 gal and I think maybe it is a calcium participate? Everything looks ok other then being cloudy. Did a 10 gal water change. Changed out the filter sock. Should I be doing anything else?
Thanks Jon

Is there stuff sticking to the rocks? Stringy maybe? Or is it just in the water?

If it is a snow storm, there isnt much you can do, the precipitate will continue to form until all available has been removed from solution. Water changes are not going to help at this point, i know rand holmes-farley has posted something about this in the chemistry forum or archives, maybe he will chime in. Search there first, sorry i dont have the info on me

Does anything seemed stressed. It could be something else. I have had something in my tank make it cloudy before. Not sure maybe something to do with spawning. If nothings is stresses out then just crank up your skimmer and do a few water changes in the next couple of days. And keep your filters clean. If everything is stressed out then do the samething. Just faster water changes. lol Hope this helps

Do you have caulerpa in the tank? If so, it may have "gone sexual" on you.

Have been at work all day. But the word coming from home is the tank is clear again. No calpura and I am going to test the water when I get home.

I have been having the same issue but in a brand new in a new tank. In the AM it's clear as a bell but in the PM it's all cloudy. I found a sponge pre-filter slipped my notice when I installed the main circ pump. I think it was diatoms forming during the day and being filtered out at night.
I have noticed this in an older tank too. The only thing thats new to that tank that's common to both is that I bought and started using Tetra Marine flake food. I don't usually buy the cheap stuff but figured that since I'm in the middle of a system build/overhaul that it would be OK for a couple weeks. Let us know what you find out.
