Am I crazy to add a snowflake Moray?

I have a 72G bowfront softie reef with 1 perc, 1 blue damsel, 1 royal gramma, 1 anthias and a yellow tang. The clean up crew consists of 1/2 doz hermits, a mix of snails (around 8 in total), 3 emerald crabs, an urchin and a cleaner shrimp.

I enjoy the diversity of the tank and was thinking of adding a snowflake moray eel.

Personal experiences appreicated but 'crazy' or 'not crazy' will suffice!

You will loose any live stock that fits in the eel's mouth.. Besides that It would be fine

I had one a few years ago. It bit my hand once and it escaped from the tank as well, slithered on my living room floor until it died. Like I was going try to pick it up, yeah right lol.

i had two that never botherd anything untill they got out of the tank and i found them on the floor. one would only eat frozen krill the other would only eat feeder fish. i think as long as you have a top on the tank you should be fine, keep him well feed and he wont bother anything

you may lose your shrimp and crabs, but likely it will be ok, esp. if well fed.

I had 2 previously. never bothered anything. snowflakes are not know to be a danger to the fish- especially if fed well. I might be concerned about it getting too big. another option is a dwarf golden moray. they only grow to about a foot.

bought a zebra eel 2 ft and a snow flake eel 14 inches of a guy here that had them in a 20 gal tank with other fish. there now in my 350 reef that only had damsels. They been there for a month so this weekend I am finally getting brave enough to add more fish.
