What's going on with my favite?

Started like this

This past week, I noticed my Chevron tang picking at it but I don't know if it's picking at it because it's dying or if it's looking bad because it's getting picked on.

It only started looking bad this week. All my SPS are thriving and growing. At night, i still see full polyp extention

Can you put a mesh cover over it to keep the tang off it? Without removing the tang's involvement it's hard to tell if he's the cause or not.

I would try to feed it to help it too when the feeding tentacles are out.
How long did you have it?

I've had it abut 2 months. I don't know about a cover, I'd have to rig one up, then it would look ugly. The tang ain't going anywhere, he's staying even if he is the culprit. Here's a pic showing all polyps out, at night with the flash. Feeding the corals just seem to put way too many nutrients in the tank.

was there any changes in lighting or parameters or flow in your tank? Favias are usually hardy and in my tank thrive under different flow and lighting but maybe a sudden change in chemistry temp or lighting caused this? do you have a frag tank or any other tank yo ucould transfer it too to rule out the tangs aggression being the cause of this? I'm not sure if the tang is causing this or just eating the dying tissue on it. Still weirdly enoguh I'm seeing a lot of tangs agrression on LPS and even SPS. in a firends tank he had to remove a pefectly healty PBT as it kille any GSP, LPS, open brains, elegance, seriatopora most of these were on the green side. then few weeks later his 2 hyppo tangs were picking on his bubble coral, open brain...

Ooh, that's not good news about the tangs Maroun. They're supposed to be reef safe. Unfortunately I have no room for a frag tank. I have the same size tank as you and I don't even know how you fit one under your tank. My lights are the same ATI powermodule 8X80watts. Params are very stable although for 2 weeks I've started mixing my own salt with a new RO unit I bought. I use the same salt that the LFS uses when I bought it premixed. I dipped the coral in revive today, I'll see how it does.
