Question submersible pump recommendations

I'm looking for good submersible pump for 75 gal reef tank. I'm putting the sump and refugium in the basement so it's going to have about 12 ft of head. Using an old undrilled 75 as sump so I need a submersible or self priming. So the question is what brand and what size will do the the trick.

High high apps such as a basement return are better with an external. Drilling the 75 and putting in a bulkhead would not be hard to do.

Those Hy-Drive (Resun) pumps have a terrible reputation.

Get an Iwaki or equivalent. External pumps are very loud, and the better ones run alot quieter and last longer. I know it's just the basement, so sound isn't such a big concern, but cheap external pumps will bother you even down in the basement. Iwaki pumps made in the USA use cheaper materials, by design of the company to save costs, but run louder. The ones made in Japan are ALOT quieter, but cost more.
