Need help with a Fungia

A torch coral fell on top of a fungia last night. It was only there for about 5 minutes or so. This morning I saw that about a 5th of the fungia is showing it's skeleton (turning white).
Will this guy bounce back?
Anything I should do ?

Thanks

Although most LPS is quite hardy, in my experience Fungias are an exception. Keep an eye on it and if the tissue begins to melt, I would bust out the dremel. I had a fungia that was stung by a hammer and it had the same initial symptoms. After 2 or 3 days, it had an onset of brown jelly from the stress and I cut out the damaged section. It took a few months, but it eventually grew back and I've had no problems since. Good luck!

How long has it been in your tank? I had a brain(oulyphyllia) that got stung by my RBTA, I moved it as soon as I saw the tissue damage & it is rebounding nicely. All I'm doing differently is I've steppud up the feedings) You could use an iodine dip(sold commercially) but I would just tell you make sure that your params are good, do a water change just to up the amount of trace elements in your tank & hope for the best. They are usually pretty hardy so all you can do at this point really is wait it out......good luck, keep us posted.

It may come back. Tissue will slowly grow back from the leading edge. My fungia even grew on algae covered (short) skeleton.
