Aquaticlife 6 Bulb T5 Lights are here!

I have been keeping tabs on the new release from this company, most said late December for their 6 lamp t5 HO. I called last week and they said they would get it up by the end of this week. And they kept to their word.

http://www.aquaticlife.com/t5ho_six_lamp/index.html

this should allow for a lot more people to have a "all in one" fixture solution, if they don't have a canopy.

I just ordered a 4 bulb Aquaticlife T5 fixture last week, i couldn't go with the 6 bulb due to its 15" mounting base on the tank.

Looks awesome. Where did you buy it from? Marine Depot's site isn't showing it.

I got my 4 bulb on marine depot here

I emailed them about the 6 Bulb and they gave me this response:

"Thank you for contacting Marinedepot.com. We do not have that fixture available yet, but I am sure we will be stocking it soon. We do not have an estimated date of arrival. If there is anything else we can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us for support."

ThatPetPlace is the only place I've seen pricing listing for them, and it looks like its ranging from 399 for the 36", 469 for the 48" and 699 for the 72"

we run the 2ft 4bulb with a 2ft 2bulb from them and have no issue growing sps, lps, and we also have a rbta. the fixtures are really well built. the 6 footers all come with fans, timer, individual reflectors, and bulbs. a great value if you are looking for a quality fixture at a great price. i would rate the build quality to be as nice if not nicer then current and the cutomer support is great!

Man, looks like a decent price. Wonder how these stand up versus the ATI's.

Thats my worry, with those prices its starting to get up with the known higher end fixtures and I'm wondering how it'll stand up to them.

Just setup the 4 bulb at my job. Love it! I have ati bulbs at home in a cheapo fixture. I think the actinics are great but I truthfully hate the white. They are very 8000k looking. I will be ordering the 6 bulb for my 40B and switching out for ati bulbs. I've talked to their customer service a lot already really bice company and great build.

So does anyone have the 6 bulb yet. Im thinking about putting it on a 40 Breeder. Any thoughts? Is the timer a good feature?

WmTasker... I too have a 40B and i will be purchasing one in the very new future for my tank. I wouldnt mind doing the 4 bulb but after talking to an aquatic life rep, he said that the 4 bulb reflectors are made to have a spread of 13-15" so the six bulb is a must if you want nearly full coverage with good par. I am planning on purchasing within the next month or so. I'll let everyone know what I think then.

I have traded emails with Dave at Aquaticlife about the reflectors and got the same info you are talking about. I have read many thread talking about how great they are with customer service and replacement parts. The only negative that I have been able to find about the fixture was the bulbs. I have found few negative comments about the quality of the 10k and actinics. I don't know for sure if it is actually the bulbs or just those few people. When you get your fixture, please post lots of pics.

Thanks

What bulbs did you go with? Do you have any close up pics of the fixture, maybe the reflector and other parts?

I have the 24" 4-bulb, and I also love the fiture. The 10K bulbs in the fixture are a VERY wierd bulb. They peak on the light spectrum at 700nm, which is orange. They are VERY yellow-looking. Now if you were to cut it down to 2 daylights, and 4 actinics, MAYBE it would be ok with stock stuff.

I replaced all 4 bulbs in my fixture with:

1-12000K Aquablue special
2-AIT Blue+
1-UVL/URI 75.25(fiji pink similar)

And really love the colors. The single cord is AWESOME, and the digital timer is excellent. The 24" fixture did not come with a fan, but noticed my fixture itself(no affect on water) was getting to maybe 120/130 degrees. I called the company, they told me what wires to use, and for $10 and about 20 minutes, installed a fan. Now the entire fixture stays at a constant room temp, no matter what lights are on. The digital timer comes pre-set to turn the fan on anytime the t5's are on.

Digital timer is a SINCH to set. Only issue I have had is the LED's. I had the fixture up for about a month before I started noticing anything, but I noticed that the inner 2 bulbs of the 4 were dimming(bulbs 2&3 looking from left to righ). Another 2 weeks and those 2 were burnt out, and #4 was dimming. They sent out replacements RIGHT AWAY. I then sent the originals back for them to check out, and their customer service has been excellent. It's been about 3 weeks since the new ones, and it seems like 2&3 are dimming a bit again. Still working with them on it, but as stated, their customer service is excellent.
