Anyone seen a purple monti cap with bright yellow polyps?
Went to the local LFS today who usually gets a ton of crap from ORA and hosts frag swaps and whatnot and he had a single frag of what he said was a monti cap, it's a 1 inch frag so to me as someone with not that much experience with SPS corals I couldnt tell what kind of monti it was.
Store owner said it's directly from his personal tank at home and that he's never seen anyone else with it before either, it is dark purple with very fluorescant highlighter yellow polyps. Just wondering if anyone out there who is a collector has seen something like this before knows if it is a "known" or "named" color morph. I'll try my best to get pics but I havent found a camera with good enough resolution to get polyps that small I also realize the naming thing is dumb to a lot of people but I'm just trying to get an idea of what I've got here, it's a nice looking piece regardless. |

Definately not a scroll coral. I think there's a good chance its a Pokerstar Monti so thanks for pointing that out As of now the polyps are definitely yellow and not green though and the polyps are spaced out in a manner similar to the ATL Pink Polyp Montis if you are familiar with those as opposed to clustered like an encrusting monti. Only time, growth and coloring up will tell for sure though! Will be a nice observational adventure
