goby and pistol shrimp pairing

My girlfriend wanted to get me a goby and pistol shrimp pair for christmas but the guy at my LFS sold the pair she reserved before she had a chance to take me there.

So im curious is it hard to pair a shrimp and goby? Would any goby and shrimp pair or do they have to be right for each other? I was thinking buying them online bc I'm mad at the LFS for doing what they did.

I don't have alot of experience but I had a yellow watchman goby that was in the tank. It had already made some tunnels/burrows. I bought a tiger pistol and put it near the hole of one of the watchmans burrows. It went right for the burrow. I woke up the next day and the pistol and watchman have been together ever since.

Its hit or miss. I have tried to pair 5 combos. And finally got a pair wiht a candy and yashika.

Got a randells in there now also with a pistol living right next to his burrow and they dont seem to like each other.

I have had 2 pairs of gobies and pistol shrimps and they both paired immediately. Just make sure you purchase a shrimp goby, otherwise it will not pair up with the shrimp. If you can not buy them together then buy the goby first and let him establish himself. When you introduce the shrimp he should find the tunnels and pair up quickly. Do not be alarmed if you rarely see the shrimp once it is paired up. I usually only see the antennas of the shrimp when the lights are on.

Here is a picture of one of my pairs. Sorry the quality is only so-so. The shrimp does not stay out long so I have trouble focusing on him since I have to move quickly.

tang concern

I just received a yellow tang yesterday.
I've always had 2 tangs together with no problem but now my Atlantic blue wont leave him alone. Even my clown is picking at him.

Anything I can do?.
